Pre-requisites: Knowledge of Lifting Operations and Slinger/Signaller duties

Anyone who has or will have the responsibility of supervising lifts with machines

Certification

CPCS Trained Operator Card (Red)
CPCS Competent Operator Card (if S/NVQ has been completed & HS;E MAP test passed) (Blue)
NPORS CSCS affiliated Card (Red)
NPORS Traditional Card
Advance Training Certificate

Refresher Period

Dependent on certificate/card route chosen, call for further information

Additional Information

This qualification does not entitle you to act as the Appointed Person or Slinger. Separate qualifications exist for these.

Recommended Progression

Crane Appointed Person
S/NVQ is required to progress CPCS & NPORS Trained Operator (Red) Cards to the Competent Operator (Blue) Cards. call for further information

Recognise and understand lift equipment and their uses
Understanding manufacturers technical data
Understanding relevant laws and legislation
RAMS, plans and certification
Communication methods and their uses
Identifying and removing damaged or out of test items.
RCI's, SWL/WLL and lift charts
Crane types and setups
Hazards, exclusion zones and lift routes
